N3bn SCAM: Court Fixes May,June For Oyo-Ita Trial

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has fixed 27th, 28th of May, 2nd, 3rd and 4th of June for day to day trial, of the immediate past Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita.

Mrs Oyo-Ita on Monday, pleaded not guilty to fraud allegations levelled against her.

Mrs. Oyo-Ita alongside eight others on Monday pleaded not guilty to an 18-count charge of fraud.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned her over an alleged N3bn scam.

Oyo-Ita who was arraigned before Justice Taiwo Taiwo is also being investigated over alleged abuse of duty tour allowance, money laundering and alleged theft of government funds.

Others arraigned along with Oyo-Ita are: Frontline Ace Global Services Limited; Asanaya Projects Limited; Garba Umar and his companies: Slopes International Limited; Gooddeal Investments Limited Ubong Okon Effiok and his own company, U & U Global Services Limited and Prince Mega Logistics Limited.

Her lawyer, Paul Erokoro (SAN) said he is applying for bail on behalf of his client who has been on administrative bail of the EFCC.

Lawyers to the other defendants are also making the same application.
