NLC Deputy President Adeyanju Sends Eid Mubarak Message, Urges Peace, Unity, Action On Insecurity
Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has extended Eid Mubarak greetings to all Nigerians while urging unity, hope and urgent action on insecurity and economic hardship.
The former President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria said the nation is moving past its most turbulent moments and called on citizens to maintain a positive mindset toward Nigeria and its leadership. He described the current period as a difficult but necessary transformation that will ultimately benefit everyone.
“Almighty Allah is merciful and just,” Adeyanju said, using the Sallah season to encourage Nigerians not to lose hope. He emphasized that human understanding is limited and urged trust in God’s wisdom as the country navigates its challenges.
Acknowledging the severe impact of insecurity and poverty, Adeyanju called on the Federal Government to act swiftly to end senseless killings and restore safety, noting that no nation can thrive where fear prevails. He also appealed for policies that address the daily struggles of citizens who now live “between hand and mouth.”
The international labour leader commended progress in the maritime sector, praising the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Hon. Oyetola, the Managing Directors of the Nigerian Ports Authority and Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority, the Executive Secretary,Nigerian Shippers Council, Seaport Terminal Operators of Nigeria, STOAN and other industry stakeholders.
He prayed that the festive period would bring blessings and continued success to those serving the sector and the nation.
Closing his message, Comrade Adeyanju thanked Nigerians for their resilience and patience, and reiterated his faith that the nation will emerge from its present difficulties: “No situation lasts forever; the light will soon beam out of the tunnel.”
