China Slams PIL,Cosco,CMA CGM,9 Others Over Arbitrary Shipping Charges
Chinese authority has imposed fines on Pacific International Lines (PIL) , CMA CGM and Cosco Container Line and 9 others shipping carriers over issues bothering on arbitrary shipping charges.
The total fine on the shipping lines is estimated at $144,000
The Ministry of Transport in China announced that it imposed fines on the 12 container operators, including shipowners and NVOCCs, due to irregularities in rate pricing.

According to the ministry,which has found the actual freight rates offered by the 12 companies are not in consistency with the rates they filed with the authority.
Carriers affected include ZIM, Wan Hai Lines, TS Lines, and HMM.
Others are Regional Container Lines, US United Logistics, Air-City Inc, Expeditors International, and C.H. Robinson Freight Services.
Ministry of Transport said it would further increase its efforts in inspecting the pricing of freight rates to maintain the healthy development of the shipping industry.
