AIG Maritime Police , CP Western Port Authority  Lauds Labour Unions On Workers Day

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Maritime Police Command, FHQ Annex, Obalende, Lagos, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, psc(+), IIPS, PSPS, has extended heartfelt greetings to all dockworkers, seafarers, port staff, and stakeholders in Nigeria’s maritime industry on the occasion of International Workers’ Day 2025.

In his message, AIG Garba emphasized that the maritime sector remains the lifeblood of Nigeria’s commerce, with the daily sacrifices made at ports and along waterways forming the backbone of national development.

He described maritime workers as “unsung heroes behind the smooth flow of trade and the safety of our ports and waterways,” urging all maritime professionals to uphold the enduring values of integrity and discipline.

The Maritime Police Command boss reaffirmed its commitment to continued partnership and collaboration, working to foster a safe, secure, and enabling maritime environment for all stakeholders.

Similarly, the Port Authority Police (Western) Command also extended appreciation to maritime workers for their tireless dedication.

Commissioner of Police Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola psc(+), mnips, described maritime workers as heroes who “brave the elements, work long hours, and uphold the integrity of our maritime borders and operations.”

CP Ishola celebrated their hard work and recognized their sacrifices, noting that the maritime community works around the clock, often away from loved ones, to keep ports running and the economy afloat.

He assured that the Port Authority Police (Western) Command would remain steadfast in its support and protection of every maritime worker.
