๐—š๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—”๐—ต๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜‚ ๐—จ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜‚ ๐—™๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ถ,of Adamawa State onย  Thursday, launched Tree Planting Campaign in Adamawa State, organized by the ๐‘ผ๐’๐’Š๐’•๐’†๐’… ๐‘ต๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’๐’” (UN) office of the Humanitarian Affairs in collaboration with the State Government to reduce effects of climate change, and also to commemorate the World Humanitarian Day 2021.
The year’sย  theme is โ€œThe Human Race”, and it focuses on taking up global action to combat climate change while standing in solidarity with vulnerable populations around the worldโ€.
According to a statement , the event took place in Government House, Yola.
Speaking after planting a tree campaign, ๐—š๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—จ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜‚ ๐—™๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ถ expressed his appreciation to developmental partners for supporting humanity, helping women and children, especially in the crisis areas.
The ๐—š๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ฟ emphasized that State Government will not relent as it will continue to uplift humanity and urging people to queue into the quest of mitigating global environmental challenges across the State.
The Commissioner of Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, Reintegration, and Humanitarian Affairs, ๐‘ด๐’“. ๐‘ฌ๐’๐’Š๐’‹๐’‚๐’‰ ๐‘ป๐’–๐’Ž๐’ƒ๐’‚ applauded Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for always exhibiting the political will to humanitarian needs in Adamawa.
In his remarks, the Head of the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs ๐‘ด๐’“. ๐‘ด๐’๐’”๐’†๐’“๐’† ๐‘บ๐’†๐’”๐’‚๐’š said the tree planting campaign is necessary towards combating the effects of climate change in Adamawa.
He further said in commemoration of World Humanitarian Day, his Office has on Wednesday 18th August 2021 organized a cleanup exercise in Jimeta metropolis by picking trash aimed at sanitizing the environment for the general good of the society.
