Emmanuel Anda , Funmi Fasan, Others To Headline AMJON’s 2026 Maritime Conference

Excitement is building for the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON)’s Annual Conference on Thursday, 30 April 2026, as Emmanuel Anda , Port Manager, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)of Lekki Deep Seaport and Funmi Fasan , first female Deputy President General,Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN)among many critical distinguished personalities are to be honoured by the group of media practitioners.

Themed “Attaining Port Efficiency in the Face of Emerging Technology,” the event will unite leaders from maritime, logistics, and blue economy sectors to tackle real-world challenges like tech-driven disruptions and operational bottlenecks.

According to a statement signed by Ezurike Ugochukwu, Secretary, Conference Planning Committee noted that from the association vantage points, it’s exactly the forum Nigeria needs to boost port productivity amid rapid innovations.

“We’re thrilled to be among the honorees recognizing trailblazers who’ve shaped our industry. Joining us are Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Prevail Farida Olayinka Ahmed, a force in entrepreneurship and peace advocacy; Dr. Festus Nwiue, the go-to marine surveyor and logistics guru; Chief Chukwumalu Emeka, a freight forwarding powerhouse;

“Others are Alhaji Olaide Olaiya, container logistics maestro; Dr. Atoloye Adebowale Joseph, a logistics legend; Comrade Hannah Funmilola, Deputy President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN); and Abdullahi-Lagos Abiola, PRO for Nigeria Customs Service, Lagos Free Trade Zone Command.

Organising Committee Chairman Raymond Tedunjaiye was quoted emphasizing the rigorous selection for awards like Most Distinguished Female Entrepreneur of the Year (Dr. Olayinka Ahmed), Most Resourceful Port Manager of the Year (yours truly, Emmanuel Anda), and Most Outstanding Port Infrastructure Personality.

Past AMJON events have sparked vital dialogues on economic growth, and this one expects heavy hitters from NCS, NPA, NIMASA, police, unions, terminals, and the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
