The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) on Tuesday, handed over two jetties to private operators within Ijegun Egba and Ilashe respectively as part of efforts to boost water transportation.
LASWA urged passengers to embark on journeys to Badagry, Liverpool, IBASA, Ojo, Ebute Ero, and CMS from the Ijegun Egba Ferry Terminal .
“Today, December 12th, LASWA has formally handed over the Ijegun Egba Terminal to 5Grls Limited and the Ilashe jetty to Ferman Logistics.
“The Ijegun Egba Ferry Terminal is well-connected by road and includes amenities such as a park-and-ride system, a secure floating pontoon for passengers to embark and disembark safely, and a fuel dump.
“Excitingly, passengers can now embark on journeys to Badagry, Liverpool, IBASA, Ojo, Ebute Ero, and CMS from the Ijegun Egba Ferry Terminal .”
Recall that water hyacinth had crippled transport operational activities within the Ikorodu axis .
