Delta NSCDC Nabs 2 For Impersonation, As Police Rescues Kidnapped Victim, Arrests Suspects

The Delta state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps says it has arrested two suspects notorious for impersonating officer’s and men of the command with an intention to extort unsuspecting members of the public.

In a statement by the command public relations officer Emeka Peters , said the suspects Lucky Emofuoreta who is 22-years and 25-yr-old Goodness Francis were caught with fully kitted unforms at an illegal checkpoint about 12midnight in Jeddo road Okpe local government area of Delta state.

Items recovered from the suspects include one Honda bus, one handcuff, two jack knife among other items.

The NSCDC PRO stressed that the multiple checkpoints on the highway are not NSCDC officials, saying they operate within the law with total observance of the fundamental human rights of the citizenry.

Still on security matters, operatives of the police in Delta disclosed it has rescued a 17-yr-old kidnap victim and arrested two suspects at Effurun round about, in Uvwie local government area of Delta state.

The police in a statement by the command spokesperson Edafe Bright, said operatives of the command Eagle_Net on visibility patrol chased the suspects to Effurun before angry mob apprehended them and handed them over to the police after attempting to set them ablaze.

According to the police, the suspects 32-yr-old Oti Shevire and Amos were led to their hideout where the victim was released after they had confessed to the Crime

The Delta police commissioner Muhammed Ali urged residents to shun all forms of jungle justice by always providing information to security agents.
