CSR: NPA Set  To Execute Major Projects  In  Host Communities Across Six Ports

In line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has indicated interest to execute major projects in all host communities where seaports are located  across the littoral states of the country.

 

This intervention  is in line with  preparation for the implementation of 2022 Budget on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and for the already existing cordial relationship between the host communities and port authority.

 

 

According to a statement sighted by DAILY FOCUS NIGERIA over the weekend, six ports managers are to make  inputs on behalf of the host communities in furtherance to execute the intervention.

 

Port  Managers from, Lagos Ports Complex (LPC), Tin Can Island Port Complex (TCIPC),Rivers Port, Onne Port, Delta Ports and Calabar Port are to begin consultation and engagement with their respective host communities to actualise the project.

 

Though, the statement signed by Alhaji Ibrahim  Nasiru, General Manager , Corporate Strategic Communication, NPA, dated 22 February 2022,  declined to disclose the amount that would be disbursed for the projects, the port managers were advised to liaise with the operating communities in determining the projects which are critical to community development.

The document said “In preparation for the implementation of 2022 Budget on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the Authority, the Management would be interested to recelve input from the Ports on behalf of our Host Communities

“You are advised to liaise with our operating communities in determining projects/interventions which are critical, relevant, realistic and strategic.

 

“The intention is to sustain our already cordial relationship. Kindly represent your previous submissions not yet executed alongside this current proposal.

 

“The need to Justify that needs assessment for our host community’s projects is carried out has necessitated this request.

 

“Consequent upon the above, kindly forward your inputs to the Office of the General Manager, Corporate & Strategic Communications on or before 1s March, 2022. Please treat as urgent to enable us compile for Management’s consideration.”The statement added
