Lagos State Health District IV Commences Routine Monitoring , Evaluation At Primary Healthcare Facilities

Lagos State Health District IV has commenced a systematic process of collecting and analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of primary healthcare centers across the district—a fundamental aspect of all facilities under its purview.

According to a statement by Oputeh Michael, Public Affairs Officer, Lagos State Health District IV on Tuesday May 12 2026, the health workforce team of the district is engaging directly with health workers at primary healthcare centers to educate them on safety and trust across local government and local council development area facilities.

This initiative is part of the district’s commitment to bridging the communication gap between the district and primary healthcare centers, ensuring ultimate beneficiaries receive quality healthcare services.

The Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District IV, Dr. Abimbola Bowale—represented by Dr. Oni Titilola, Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, Lagos State Health District IV, and head of the health workforce team—explained the district’s role and responsibilities.

She emphasized that it is the district’s mandate to protect the health and safety of the people. Dr. Oni stressed that the district’s renewed focus on routine monitoring and evaluation stems from the recognition that regulation alone is insufficient; all primary healthcare centers under District IV must also be equipped to deliver the right services to patients.

Dr. Oni reaffirmed that the district will continue organizing similar routine monitoring and evaluation exercises to engage all primary healthcare centers across local governments and local council development areas under District IV.
