On Friday April 17, 2026, the Commissioner of Police, Eastern Port Police Command, CP Shuaibu A. Audu, visited the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Ibeto Seaport and Terminals Command Area 5 in Port Harcourt, Comptroller Usman Yahaya.
This strategic familiarization tour at the Command headquarters underscored a renewed commitment to inter-agency collaboration between the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness, port security, and trade facilitation.
In a statement by Chief Superintendent of Customs Tangwa Emmanuel, Public Relations Officer for Ibeto Seaport Command, CP Audu highlighted the visit as a step to deepen existing ties.

“No organization can function effectively in isolation,” he said, stressing synergy’s role in tackling security challenges at economically vital ports. He appealed for continued support from Comptroller Yahaya and his team to achieve national security goals.
Comptroller Yahaya welcomed the initiative as timely, pledging full backing for the new Police Commissioner.
He emphasized collaboration as the cornerstone for seamless port operations, national security, and shared objectives between NCS and NPF.
Yahaya also shared the Command’s history, which impressed Audu, and reaffirmed Ibeto’s dedication to port security.
Both leaders resolving to sustain and fortify their partnership for stronger trade and security at Ibeto Seaport.
