Atiku Woos Lagosians, Says Restructuring’ll Engender Just Society, United Country 

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has again played up the significance of restructuring in unifying the country indicating that it engenders patriotism and peaceful coexistence.

 

Alhaji Atiku stated this at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium venue of his ongoing electioneering campaign that has touched base in more than half a dozen state capitals and the second city in the South-West region of the country.

According to the ex-Vice President, “all those who support the calls for restructuring our federation are united in the desire to live in a society that works for its people. They are also united by their love for their country.”

While recalling that the South-West region, mostly populated by the Yoruba people; and marginally by the Ibo people, collectively tie the progress of their states to the “unique competencies of each State ability to uplift their competitive edges and promote a synergy that will lead to the creation of a more efficient economy,” Atiku pledged to make these ideals a reality for the benefit of the region and the country.

 

“My administration will work hard to attract direct foreign investment by providing tangible incentives to investors,” he assured, stressing that “the government will also strengthen credit guarantee initiatives; work to achieve lowest corporate income tax as well as lower transaction costs to help emerging companies.

“The government will also  prioritise providing  a level playing field for all investors everywhere in the country ,” he added.

 

On youth and women empowerment, the PDP Presidential candidate said he will create an environment that will  provide employment and fulfilment to youth and women through education, mentorship, vocational training and technology and entrepreneurship initiatives.

 

“This will be done in collaboration with the private sector and the local communities, he noted while reiterating his commitment to source 10 billion dollars to empower the most vulnerable in society.

“I will also put in place and implement policies that will discourage unfair exploitation and persecution of women,” he further assured.
