LASG To Launch Regulatory Zonal Offices For Electricity Consumer Access

The Lagos State Government, via the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC),has disclosed plans to establish regulatory zonal offices across the state in the third quarter of the year.

LASERC hosted its inaugural Stakeholders’ Engagement Forum on May 7 2026, signaling a bold step toward smarter regulation and a robust electricity market.

LASERC’s CEO, Mrs. Temitope George, called the event a pivotal moment for transparency and collaboration in Lagos’s power sector.

According to her, LASERC is setting up zonal offices in Ikorodu, Amuwo Odofin/Badagry, and Sangotedo/Epe to speed up complaint resolution and regulatory access. These offices will launch in Q3 2026

She outlined a vision for an efficient, innovative, consumer-focused market to fuel the state’s economic growth, emphasizing standards enforcement, consumer safeguards, investment attraction, innovation support, and clean energy promotion.

George stressed partnerships for sustainable progress, spotlighting investment and infrastructure opportunities amid ongoing reforms.

Highlights included presentations on the regulatory agenda, market performance, retail service code, and strategic initiatives by CEO George, Executive Members Olakunle Falola and Adekunle Olopade, and LAISO’s Adetunji Adesanya.

Board Chairman Alexander Ogunbiyi issued 14 licences/permits to compliant operators, underscoring accountability. Interactive sessions tackled challenges and growth paths, with LASERC pledging balanced, equitable regulation.

The forum drew stakeholders from across the electricity chain—partners, operators, investors, communities, artisans, consumers, and media—thanking all for shaping Lagos’s reliable energy future.
