RIVERS STATE: Navy Rescues Kidnapped Victim In Bonny Island

The Nigerian Navy has successfully rescued a kidnapped victim in Bonny, reinforcing its iron grip on security across Rivers State waterways.

Personnel from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Bonny located and freed Mr. Benedict Eze, abducted on March 23, 2026, at Aganya Community.

According to a statement, in a swift operation, naval forces tracked Mr. Eze to Coconut Jetty following sustained joint maritime and land-based efforts. He received immediate medical evaluation at a naval base before reuniting with his family, highlighting the Navy’s rapid response capabilities.

The rescue aligns with directives from Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Idi Abbas to intensify anti-crime measures in the Bonny-Port Harcourt waterways and surrounding creeks. It underscores the Navy’s ongoing dominance, preventing kidnappings and piracy through persistent patrols.

This incident builds on prior successes, including the rescue of 20 passengers in 2024 and 15 others in 2025 near Bonny, ensuring safe passage for maritime traffic amid persistent threats.
