Port Concessionaire Renovates Lagos Mainland Local Government Primary Healthcare Centre

The APM Terminals, Apapa, as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility,has renovated the Lagos Mainland Local Government Primary Healthcare Centre .

The terminal operators also commissioned the facility at Simpson street, situated at Ebute Metta, Lagos State.

According to a statement by Oputeh Michael, Public Affairs Officer, Lagos State Health District IV and a copy made available to DAILYFOCUS NIGERIA on Sunday, stated that during the
commissioning,  Chief Executive Officer APM terminals, Fredrick Klinke, said the organisation has successfully completed the renovation of the Lagos mainland local government primary healthcare centre, saying the project was undertaken as part of our corporate social responsibility initiative,

He noted that the initiative with was aimed to enhancing access to quality healthcare services within the community.

The Terminal Manager, APM terminals Apapa, Steen Kundsen, noted that the organisation recognise that a healthy community is the foundation of sustainable development, by improving the infrastructure and facilitate the renovation of this primary healthcare centre, we seek to support the delivery of efficient and affordable primary health services to Ebute Metta communities.

Also, the Permanent Secretary Lagos State Health District IV, Dr Abimbola Bowale, in his remark said, ” We are here to celebrate more than just a building, we are to commission a beacon of hope, a fortress for community well – being and a powerful testament to what we can achieve when the public and private sectors unit for common good. ”

He noted that a healthy community is indeed the very bedrock of sustainable development, too often, our public health facilities bear the weight of our communities needs and the infrastructure can become strained.

“What APM terminals has done here is to directly strengthen that bedrock, you have not only provided a fresh coat of paint, you revitalised an essential institution.

” You have enhanced the environment in which our dedicated health professionals will deliver quality, affordable and compassionate care.”

Senator Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni, representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, represented by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Rasheed Giwa, commended APM terminals for the laudable gesture, pointing out that “Your investment in healthcare infrastructure shows true corporate social responsibility and a genuine commitment to the well- being of our people.

” Partnership like this between public and private sectors are the pillars of sustainable community development”, the Senator noted .

The Senator noted that, this health centre is more than just a building, it is a lifeline for mothers, children, the elderly and every resident who depends on accessible and quality healthcare services.

“The APM terminals not only renovated the primary healthcare centre, equally equipped all the medical departments with quality and standard equipment to carry out medical services to the Ebute Metta communities.

Stakeholders also took turns to commend the gesture of the port concessionaire’s corporate social responsibility .

They are – permanent secretary primary healthcare board, Ibrahim Mustapha, represented by Pharm. Sakirat Adeosun, director pharmaceutical services, permanent secretary, Lagos State health district VI, Dr. Dapo Asiyanbi, permanent secretary, Lagos State health district iii, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke and Chairman Lagos mainland local government, Hon. Jubril Emilagba.
