WORLD CARDIAC DAY : Lagos Health Districts Dole – Out Free Drugs To Lagosians Through Medical Outreach
The Lagos State health district body of permanent secretaries, have organised free medical outreach to commemorate the Heart day 2025, tagged, Don’t miss a beat.
The world Cardiac day is a new opportunity to reflect on how to best use the heart for the benefit of humanity and nature.

According to the statement, the Ikeja Local Government Chairman, Hon. Akeem Daudu who hosted the Lagos State health I-VI permanent secretaries, said “Every 29 September, we celebrate world heart day to raise awareness of cardiac and the importance of taking care of our hearts, from individuals, families, schools, community groups and government, that we should work to make equitable heart health a priority and drive change across Lagos State.
He further re-echoed that the body of permanent secretaries, Lagos State health districts in their remarks alert Lagosians on some hidden signs of heat disease but many people are unaware, like loose grip, swelling of lower legs, skin colour changes, sexual problem and sleep apnea .
The permanent secretaries explained the strategies to prevent heart disease, advise Lagosians to get regular health screening tests, manage stress, get quality sleep, maintain a healthy weight, eat a heart healthy diet, get moving aim for at least thirty to sixty minutes of activity daily and stop smoking and limit intake of alcohol.
The permanent secretaries present at the event, includes, Dr. Dayo Lajide I ,Dr. Monsurat Adeleke Ii, Dr. Abimbola Bowale IV, Dr. Dapo Asiyanbi V, Dr. Funmilayo Bankole III and Dr. Abimbola Mabogunje VI.
The Lagos State health districts conducted free medical screening tests and dole out free drugs to many Lagosians.
