INDIAN FESTIVAL: Ejiro, Kevwe Get Seafarers’ Commendation Aboard MT Biskrat
Following their outstanding performance at the just concluded Diwali Festival aboard MT. Biskrat recently, in Lagos South West Nigeria, local and international seafarers have continued to extol Ejiro and Kevwe Sese for the musical display at the event .
Notable for the jazz genre of music, the teenagers who were special guest artistes, thrilled crew aboard the tanker vessel with their jazzy tunes during the festival.
The sailors comprising Indians, Bulgaria, Philippines, Senegal and Nigerians expressed satisfaction over the dexterity display on the musical instruments by the duo.
According to the seamen, the young talented children of Engineer Michael Atina Sese have what it takes to write their names in the musical industry globally considering the genre of music at their tender age.
The saxophonist and keyboard specialist teens throw down melodious tunes that serenaded the breezy cabin of the ship , even as the seafarers’ appealed for more endless vibes.
Speaking on behalf of the foreign and local seafarers’ Chief Engineer of the ship, Engr. Patrick Nwokobia showered encomium on the teenagers performance, saying that the duo has what it takes to thrill large gathering locally or Internationally despite their tender age.
While eulogizing the wonder kids, Engr. Patrick noted that the seafarers ‘were entertained , marvelled and excited over the dexterity display of the musical instruments by the kids.
He noted that the outstanding performance by Ejiro and Kevwe Sese will go down in history in commemoration with the festival saying” Nigerian kids did wonders through their musical talent to celebrate Indian festival onboard a ship.”
In a chat with Ejiro shortly after the performance, commended his father for the opportunity for them to perform aboard the ship.
Ejiro noted that” Its an unforgettable moment performing at this event because it happened to be celebrated onboard a ship and it is also a foreign festival being celebrated in Nigeria.
“I want to thank my father specially for giving me this opportunity to do my thing onboard this ship and I want to thank the seafarers’ for appreciating and accepting our music,” Ejiro said.
On his part , Kevwe described the Indian festival as an unforgettable experience adding that “Performing aboard a ship is the way to go, as someone who has passion for maritime activities.
Ejiro and Kevwe Sese have continued to be prominent in the maritime sector performing back to back classical jazz tunes to thrill stakeholders .
They are regular performers at “Seafarers ‘Colloquium” put together by the Nigerian Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association (NMNOWTSSA) and the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) in commemoration to World Seafarers ‘Day celebration.
