There was pandemonium on Thursday , at Port and Cargo Handling Services Terminal, Tin Can Island Port Lagos as a vessel owned by Hapag Llyods was rescued from fire outbreak.
DAILY FOCUS NIGERIA gathered that a mobile crane got burned close to the ship at berth.
Our correspondent was informed that the ship was laden with containerised charcoal.
The timely intervention by dockworkers at terminal saved other infrastructure from further damages
Multiple sources who spoke with our correspondent noted that the fire incident started at about 11 am local time .
The dockers who were on duty on Thursday morning spent close to three hours to assist personnel from the fire service to combat the inferno,.it was learnt
The foreign seafarers’ were also spotted on video footage made available to DAILY FOCUS NIGERIA .
The foreign crew also contributed to put off the inferno of the mobile crane.
It was gathered that no live was lost as a result of the inferno at Ports & Cargo Terminal TCIPC in Lagos but indications have emerged that some the port infrastructure were destroyed.
Ports & Cargo Terminal is subsidiary of SIFAX Group .
