Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has said that the outbreak of the coronavirus disease is having a negative impact on the Lagos-Ibadan rail project.
The Minister disclosed this during a live television programme on African Independent Television in Abuja.
Amaechi said that workers of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, the contractor handling the project, were held up in China on the orders of the government their country.
He said, “If not for coronavirus we would have finished the Lagos-Ibadan rail, although the project is nearly completed. The CCECC workers are still in China.”
