UYC Inaugurates National Executives,As Obieh Emerges President

The Urhobo Youth Council worldwide has inaugurated a new National Executive Council to pilot its affairs within the next four years as Comrade Terry Obieh emerged President for a second term with Ovie Odubu as Vice-President.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees,Olorogun Kakor Ese inaugurated the Exco on Monday in Delta State.

While noting that the youths have a significant role to play in nation building, Olorogun kakor said the vision of a Country lies in the hands of the youths stressing that they are to fight for equality,justice and against exploitations of any kind.

He said the new Executive members should be proactive as well as see the Urhobo Youth Council,UYC as one indivisible entity as pointing out that it will engender peace and unity of purpose that will in turn serve as the needed tonic for human-capital development of the Urhobo Youths.

A member of the BOT, Mr.Victor Akpoyibo enjoined the youth to live up to their responsibilities adding that,this is an opportunity for the Exco members to create an identity for themselves and the Urhobo nation at large.

In his acceptance speech the President of the Urhobo Youth Council,UYC Worldwide,Comrade Terry Obieh said,”It is indeed, a historic moment and a great honour to pilot the affairs of the entire Urhobo Youths.

“I want to assure you that my administration will be operating an open door policy where true democracy will prevail over self-centeredness,greed and loss of focus.

“This is because I believe it is time we rewrote the history of Urhobo Youths that a lot of people have fundamentally loss faith in.”

He added,”the struggle to better the lot of the Urhobo people is a continuous one and in this my second tenure I will find, with the help of God and cooperation of my other executive members, lasting solutions to the myriads of challenges facing the Urhobo youth and Urhobo nation in general.”

Other members of the newly sworn in Executives Council are Comrade Ovie Adarighofua, Comrade Peter Samuel, Comrade Kpaive Samson, Hon. Bezi Ighotegwolor, Secretary,Treasurer and Financial Secretary, Spokesman.

Others are Comrade Godstime Enyowhara,Comrade Amos David, Comrade Igidigi Paradise, Comrade Eri. Jagboro, Comrade Nelson Okumagba,Comrade Abraham Ekokotu, Comrade Edefeghara John as Assistant Secretary,Publicity Secretary, Welfare Officer, Organising Secretary, Provost and Ex-Officio respectively.

Olorogun Kakor Ese who chaired the ceremony is the Chairman Board Of Trustees,BOT, while Comrade Uray is Vice Chairman.

Engr Okiemute Onovughakpor is Secretary; Comrades Okumagba Mike,Festus Oyibo and Victor Akpoyibo are members of the BoT.
