WORLD BLOOD DONORS : General Hospital Apapa Records 50% Needed Donation From Volunteers

The General Hospital Apapa,  joined other medical communities to mark 2023 World Blood Donor Day with massive turnout by the donors, even as it disclosed that 50% of the total blood needed has achieved during the exercise.

Oputeh Michael, Public Affairs Officer,General Hospital Apapa, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

Dr. Keshinro Ajibola, medical Director Chief Executive Officer of General Hospital Apapa in his re-cap said fifty percent of the the target were met.

He further explained that donating blood helps people in need and its equally helps people in the community that may need a blood.

During his remarks the Medical Director Said when you donate blood, you make others to live, especially to those that donate blood regularly for people to survive and we should keep our Nation’s blood supply stable, because blood is needed on a daily basis of the year, we should not wait until disaster happen before donating blood.

Dr.  Ajibola encourage the donors to be donating blood regularly, because it’s reduces the risk of cancer and also burns calories.

He said blood donation are critical for saving lives, especially for individuals who need blood transfusion due to various medical conditions.

Gift and sourvenir were given to donors and he encouraged them to visit the facility again and again.
