UNIONISM: MWUN Boss Bags Two Honours In One Week

President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has received two laurels from the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria and Nigerian Economic Growth Movement for exemplary leadership qualities .

While the former made the presentation to honour the MWUN boss on Monday, the latter conferred theirs on Thursday last week both in Lagos.

According to a statement made available to our correspondent, Comrade Adeyanju bagged the awards ‘Jarman Matasan Arewa Najeriva’ from the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria , whilst Agent of Change was bestowed on him by the Nigerian Economic Growth Movement .

Barr. Faruk Mohammed who led the Arewa group described the Union’s boss as a core labour professional who has paid his dues to lead one of the most power groups in the country .

Mohammed was quoted as saying the maritime sector has experienced industry peace and reforms in the last three years courtesy the current President General of the union.

While responding , Comrade Adeyanju commended members of the union for their support and cooperation in ensuring industrial peace in the maritime industry.

Adeyanju reiterated that welfare of members was paramount in the sustainability of millions of families across the country adding that the union will always stand firm to engage stakeholders to do the needful for workers in the industry.
