Tragedy, As Maritime Workers Seamen Branch Loses Scribe,Comrade Okodo

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has been thrown into mourning mode, as the General Secretary, Seamen and NIWA Water Transport Branch , Com. Patrick Okodo, died on Sunday.

Comrade Okodo died in his own town in Bayelsa state after a brief illness.

The vibrant scribe was 61 years old before his demise.

The late Comrade  who was on leave since December 2021 is expected to resume duty next week before his death on Sunday, 5th February 2022.

A statement sent to our correspondent reads “Good afternoon comrades. It is with a heart full of grieve and sadness that we announce the sudden demise of Com. Patrick Okodo, who until his death today was the General Secretary of the seamen/NIWA, Water transport branch of our great union.

“It is with heavy heart that we announce to our members here the passing away of Comrade Patrick Okodo (General Secretary of our noble branch) to the life beyond.

“We are told by the family members that, Baba Okodo succumbed to death yesterday 5th February, 2022 after a brief illness at his home town in Bayelsa State.

‘”Funeral arrangements will be as communicated by his family. May his soul rest in peace.”
