The NEC expressed satisfaction with the preparedness of the Party’s organs, chapters, and structures ahead of the National Convention scheduled for November 15-16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State. The committee commended the efforts of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Board of Trustees, National Working Committee, and National Assembly Caucus in ensuring the success of the convention.

A major highlight of the meeting was the approval of the National Convention Zoning Committee’s report. The NEC resolved that all current national office positions will remain zoned within their respective Northern and Southern regions. Importantly, while the position of National Chairman remains in the Northern region, the PDP’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election will be zoned to the Southern region. The regions were also tasked to micro-zone positions for implementation.

Reaffirming its commitment to democratic principles and the welfare of Nigerians, the PDP assured citizens of its readiness to reclaim power in the 2027 general elections.
