NAGAFF:  NECOM Pledges Credible Western Zone Elections

The National Electoral Commission (NECOM), National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), has reaffirmed strong commitment to conduct a credible and transparent   Western Zone elections in August 2022.

in a chat on Thursday in Lagos , pledged that the electoral arm of NAGAFF is ready to conduct elections that will be free and fair for all contestants.

According to him, the screening exercise will commence next week noting that work is already in progress to conduct a credible polls.

 

He reiterated that the Council for the Regulations of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) registration and that of NAGAFF membership will be some the  criteria that will be used for screening .

The NECOM Chairman added that stakeholders in the freight forwarding sector will experience one of the best elections conducted by the Association under his chairmanship.

 

Ejikeme noted that elections will not hold in  Seme and Ikorodu chapters of the Association because of the peculiarity nature at the moment but affirmed that elections will be conducted at Airport, Tin Can Island Port, PTML , Apapa Port and Kirikiri Lighter Terminals (KLT).

 

He called on contestants to avoid any form of hate speech campaign and  actions that may lead to their disqualification.

Harping on a credible polls in August, :”The registration is ongoing and I think there is compliant from contestants so far. I just want to add here that we are ready to conduct a credible election like none other,” the Chairman affirmed .

 

 

Recall that NECOM had rolled out the guidelines and time-table for the election which is expected to hold  in August .

 

It also lifted the ban on  sales of forms which began  on the 3rd of June,2022 and closes  July 7th after two weeks extension.
