NAF Launches Independent Committee To Boost Safety, Recalls Retired Officers To Serve

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on December 10, 2025, launched a major step in his leadership by inaugurating a high-level Operational and Safety Audit Committee for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

This committee, composed of senior retired officers and experts, will independently review key operational, engineering, and armament units to enhance safety, efficiency, and accountability.

Air Marshal Aneke stressed that maintaining operational integrity, strategic effectiveness, and the safety of personnel are core to his command philosophy.

The committee’s comprehensive evaluation aims to identify gaps and propose reforms that promote professionalism, improve mission readiness, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the NAF.

He also directed the committee to have the flexibility to develop audit guidelines aligned with international aviation standards, ensuring transparency and collaboration throughout the process.

This initiative marks the beginning of an ongoing reform effort designed to strengthen all branches and commands of the Nigerian Air Force.
