HAPPY BIRTHDAY: SSASCGOC Maritime Branch Celebrates Comrade Bunu, With Heartfelt Message

The Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporation and Government Owned Companies (SSASCGOC) Maritime Branch, under the able leadership of Comrade Akinola Bodunde, has extended its warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to Comrade Francis Bunu, President General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), on the joyous occasion of his birthday.
In his message on Thursday 20 November 2025, Comrade Bodunde stressed that “Comrade Bunu, your unwavering dedication and relentless commitment to the welfare and advancement of maritime workers across Nigeria continually inspire all of us.
Your visionary leadership has not only uplifted the standard of the union but has strengthened the solidarity and resolve of workers in this vital sector.
“Today, we celebrate not just your birth but the extraordinary impact your life has made on countless lives.Your ability to navigate the complex tides of union leadership with wisdom, patience, and courage sets you apart as a remarkable leader.
According to him, Under your guidance, the Maritime Workers’ Union has made significant strides toward better working conditions, fair labour practices, and enhanced social security for members.
“Your leadership is a beacon of hope and a source of motivation for senior staff and younger workers alike.Beyond your professional contributions, you are also celebrated for your integrity and humility, qualities that endear you to many.
Continuing, Bodunde reiterated that :”Your open-door policy encourages dialogue and unity, fostering a culture of trust and respect. These traits have created a strong family spirit within the union and the wider maritime community.
The SSASCGOC boss added that “On this special day, we acknowledge the sacrifices you have made, often placing the interests of workers above personal comfort. Your resilience in the face of challenges reminds us that true leadership is about service and dedication.
He said “We are grateful for your tireless efforts in championing the rights and dignity of maritime workers throughout Nigeria.”
He noted that the SSASCGOC Maritime Branch is proud to stand with the MWUN boss in solidarity and celebration.
