Briefing State House correspondents at the end of the meeting in Abuja, Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, said his ministry presented a memorandum for the award of three roads in Oyo, Kano and Abuja.“Council approved these roads for N7.249 billion for the first one in Oyo, N7.593 for the second one in Niger/FCT and N4.510 for the third one in Kano,” he explained. He disclosed that the gathering also sanctioned N523 million for the completion of Efalaye-Erimo-Iwaraja highway linking Ekiti and Osun states.
His words: “The Ministry of Works presented two memos, and the first memorandum was to approve the change of rates with respect to the Efalaye-Erimo-Iwaraja road linking Ekiti and Osun states.
According to Fashola, the ministry equally intimated council of the number of roads executed so far nationwide, adding that 524 of them were ongoing. He said 43 internal roads were being constructed in campuses of universities, 10 of which had been completed.
