Delta Govt Shutdown Golden Tulip Hotel, Two Others For Flouting COVID19 Protocols

The Delta State Taskforce on COVID19 sealed the bars of three hotels in Asaba for flouting the established protocols that have been instituted to curb the spread of the virus in the state.
The Bars of Hampton Towers, Golden Tulips and Vienna International Hotels were sealed by the taskforce led by the Secretary to Delta State Government, Mr. Chiedu Ebie because social distancing was not observed and most of the guests were not using face masks.

“We cannot compromise the lives of our people. If one person here is discovered to have #COVID19, this hotel will be shut down and it will cost a lot to engage in the contact tracing of everyone here,” the SSG said.
Also, while unveiling the Delta State Civil Service Commission Regulations (2019) in Asaba, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa stated that his administration would leave a legacy of a “public sector driven by professionalism” with zero tolerance for corruption.
Governor Okowa further stated that his administration is committed to ensuring strict adherence to due process in service delivery and urged civil servants to equip themselves with the knowledge of the regulations governing their jobs.
“This administration has a strong desire to leave the legacy of a public sector driven by professionalism and synergy among MDAs, efficient project performance, strict adherence to due processes and zero tolerance for corruption,” Governor Okowa said.
