CILT Nigeria Membership Hits New Heights, As 2025 Conference Showcases Strategic Growth

The 2025 Annual Conference of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria has announced steady growth in its membership drive in the last four years.

CILT Nigeria’s rising international profile was highlighted by its active participation and leadership roles in global forums, reflecting its stature as one of the most impactful delegations worldwide.

The CILT Nigeria also stated its role in shaping national supply chain and transport policies and featured expert presentations on sustainability, digital innovation, and the Blue Economy. Financial reforms and digital transformation initiatives have also strengthened the Institute’s resources, with a more than 242% increase in revenue and a sevenfold growth in liquid assets since 2021.

Speaking at the Annual General Meeting held in Lagos on Wednesday, President CILT Nigeria, Barrister Mfon Ekong Usoro, FCILT, announced the remarkable progress in membership growth and institutional advancement noting that the Institute, a key player in global logistics and transport professional development, has significantly expanded its footprint across Nigeria, now active in 13 states.

Usoro noted that since late 2021, new member registrations have surged—from 169 in 2021 to 624 in 2025, whilst highlighting the growing recognition of CILT Nigeria’s value in the sector.

Speaking further, she highlighted significant achievements in membership expansion and institutional development.

She pointed out that under her leadership, CILT Nigeria has forged strategic partnerships with major stakeholders such as the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Bureau of Public Procurement, and the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management.

These collaborations, according to her, helped align professional training with industry and military standards, enhancing career pathways for logistics and transport professionals nationwide.

Usoro expressed gratitude to the dedicated team and members driving the Institute’s transformation and growth, underscoring a bright future ahead for CILT Nigeria.

Usoro emphasized the success of digital transformation efforts, improved financial management, and governance reforms under her leadership. Revenue grew over 242% from 2021 to 2025, while liquid assets increased sevenfold to N123 million, reflecting enhanced accountability and transparency.

“CILT Nigeria, a branch of the world’s leading logistics and transport professional body founded in 1919, now has a growing footprint in 13 Nigerian states.

“Since the current administration began in late 2021, membership has surged notably—from 169 new members in 2021 to a cumulative 624 new registrations as of September 2025.

“The Institute’s growth is backed by strengthened partnerships with key stakeholders, including the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), and various academic institutions. These collaborations promote professional development, dual certifications, and sector-specific training, enhancing the profile of CILT-qualified professionals nationally.

Usoro thanked team members and stakeholders for their dedication and commitment to the Institute’s vision of reform and transformation, underscoring CILT Nigeria’s vital role in supporting the country’s logistics and transport sectors.

The conference agenda underlined CILT Nigeria’s commitment to shaping national policies in logistics, supply chain, transport, and the Blue Economy, featuring presentations from industry leaders and academic researchers.

The conference had in attendance,top players from the transport, military, maritime etc players.

Highpoint of the event was the award presentation to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) , General Christopher Musa and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola among many other awardees.
