CILT Lagos, Canvasses Active Membership Participation To Promote Professionalism

Chairman of the  Lagos State Branch , Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport CILT Nigeria, Mr Bashir Ambi -Mohammed,  has tasked  members to work together in order to promote professionalism and active participation .

 

Mohammed who made the this known during the first General Meeting  of the branch held at the Nigeria Railway Corporation Compound, Alagomeji,Yaba, Lagos over the weekend, also urged members to donate towards giving the branch office a befitting and conducive atmosphere.

He however inaugurated four standing committees for the branch which includes: Membership Drive Committee, Continuous Professional Development (CPD), ICT Committee and Fund  Raising Committee.

He called on the inaugurated committee members to perform effectively as their nominations were based on merits.

 

He also requested the Electoral Committee Chairperson Mrs Juliana Saka, FCILT who was also at the meeting to conduct a by-election on the vacant positions in the branch.

 

The election he said , should be conducted after the national conference /election.

 

According to him,the general meeting also discussed the forthcoming National Election of the Institute scheduled for  22nd & 23rd at Abuja , even as he  requested for members to pay their statutory dues for them to participate in   the elections.

The Chairman also informed the members that Lagos branch is blessed with notable technocrats in addition to the highest number of membership in the country, being a pacesetter , urging them to maintain the tempo.

 

Also speaking, one of the opinion leaders in the Institute who is also a member of the branch, Hajiya Aisha Ali Ibrahim, FCILT,  who is the Chief Convener Globally of Women In Logistics and Transport (WILAT) tasked members on professional self development and encouraged members to attend the Institute”s programs within and outside the Country.

 

Mrs Ibrahim also encouraged members to attend the  National Conference /Election, scheduled to hold in Abuja this month and vote competent candidates that will move the Institute forward within and outside the country.

Members at the meeting also shared their views on the way forward concerning the Institute, which the Chairman noted.
