CAPACITY BUILDING:NSML Wants Stakeholders To Take Advantage Of MCOE

As part of efforts to build capacity and promote professionalism , NLNG Shipping and Marine Services Limited (NSML) has called on stakeholders in the maritime and oil and gas industries to take advantage of the newly accredited training centre.

Recall that the Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCOE) recently got accreditation by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (UK MCA) for two courses: Basic Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations and the STCW 2010 Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS).

Speaking with newsmen in Lagos, Abdulkadir Ahmed, Managing Director/CEO of NSML pointed out that the newly accredited MCOE is equipped with state-of-the-art facility that is fully equipped to the highest standards.

He invited business owners and private investor players in need of training to utilize the center, stating that it is open to anyone who requires the necessary training to function efficiently in the maritime industry.

Ahmed reiterated the importance of the MCOE in delivering necessary training programmes for the advancement of the companyโ€™s personnel noting that the accreditation is evidence of the tireless efforts to bring about the changes required for the growth of the nation’s oil and gas / maritime sectors.

Harping on the cutting edge equipment for capacity building, Ahmed noted that mariners can take the advantage of courses necessary for their respective career advancement stressing that MCOE is poised to become the foremost full-fledged maritime training institution in Africa.

in line with the companyโ€™s vision of supporting the growth of the Nigerian maritime industry, the Managing Director emphasized the importance of finance, standards, and competence in driving the growth of the industries.

The NSML CEO declared that a holistic approach that goes beyond financing is necessary for sustainable growth, safety, and operational excellence in the maritime industry.
