The Nigerian Shippers Council has raised the alarm over numerous fake Facebook pages of the Executive Secretary/ Chief Executive Officer, Barrister Pius Akutah.
The Council informed the public that the official Facebook page of the CEO is Pius Akutah Gbongbon with 5.7k followers as press time, saying it is not Pius Akutah Ukeyima or Ukeyima Akutah Pius respectively.
The NSC noted that the it’s working closely with Facebook to address the issue, urging the public not to engage themselves with any other accounts claiming to be the Executive Secretary.
It advised the public not to share personal information or send money to any unauthorized profiles, stressing the need to
report any suspicious profiles immediately to relevant agencies.
The official Council ‘s Facebook page stated that: “Dear Followers, It has come to our attention that there are several fake profiles impersonating the ES/CEO of the NSC, Akutah Pius on Facebook. Please be informed that this is the ONLY official Facebook account of the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council.
