BREAKING: Buhari Grants Duty Waiver To Imported Medical Equipment

Fresh indications have emerged that the federal government may have concluded plans to waive duty payable on imported medical equipment.

According to a tweet by Tolu Ogunlesi, special assistant to the president on digital and new media, on Tuesday, disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved that import duty is waived for medical equipment and supplies.

The tweet explained that the purpose of the duty waiver on such commodities is aimed to “strengthen health infrastructure” in response to the COVID19 pandemic.
