Oghenekaro Etebo, the Stoke City midfielder, has withdrawn from the Super Eagles squad ahead of Sunday’s international friendly against Brazil at the National Stadium in Singapore.
The Potters number eight, according to allnigeriasoccer.com, was sighted in Lagos on Wednesday, fueling speculation that he was set to miss the friendly against the South Americans and this has been confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation via a press release, without stating the reason why he pulled out of the game.
The NFF and manager Gernot Rohr have opted not to call up replacements for Etebo and Torino defender Ola Aina.
