ANLCA Seme Chapter Invests N20 Million In Sick Bay, As Customs Controller Commissions Facility

The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Seme Chapter, has officially commissioned a Sick Bay aimed at providing health services for members in need of medical care.
Comptroller Wale Adenuga, Customs Area Controller of the Seme Command, Nigeria Customs Service, commissioned the facility on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Alhaji Abdulwasiu Abioye, Chairman of ANLCA Seme Chapter, disclosed that the Sick Bay cost a whopping ₦20 million.
He assured that the facility will continue to provide the necessary medication to members of the freight forwarding community within the border post.
Abioye emphasized that the health of members is a priority under his leadership, adding that they have already partnered with a medical doctor from the Seme Command, as well as a consultant who will be available weekly to provide health services to freight forwarders at the border.
The Chairman urged freight forwarders from other associations to take advantage of the facility, noting that it is open to all freight agents registered with the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).
He explained that funds generated through Practicing Fees are used to cover medication and consultant fees, pointing out that proceeds from operators are what finance the health projects.
Abioye also mentioned that a pharmacist has been employed to dispense medication for prescriptions from the doctor.
“We wrote to the Area Controller of Seme Command, who has been very supportive. We requested a doctor, and he approved it immediately. We also have a consultant who will offer medical advice to those in need,” he said.
During the commissioning, Comptroller Adenuga assured the freight forwarders that the command will prioritize the health of customs brokers.
He pledged to deploy a medical doctor to assist in providing health services to stakeholders and announced a contribution of ₦1 million to assist with drugs and other pharmaceutical products.
The Area Controller further encouraged stakeholders to utilize the command’s medical facilities, which are open to all key players and freight forwarders within the border post.
The Customs Chief commended the ANLCA Seme Chapter executives for their dedication and commitment to promoting health-related initiatives.
Comptroller Adenuga also described the ANLCA Seme Chapter as the best group and called on the national executives of ANLCA to give them special recognition for their humanitarian efforts.
