Anambra Govt Set To Digitalise Levies Collection From Transporters, Bans Cash Payment

The Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AiRS) has commenced online payment of daily levies and taxes on transporters with the deadline, 18th of  July 2022, even as it has banned physical cash payment.

The move is to eradicate touts and thugs from the various motor parks and garages across the state.

This was contained in a statement by Sylvia Tochukwu-Ngige,  Head, Taxpayer Education and Enlightenment Team AIRS over the weekend.

According to the Public Service Announcement, cash payment is prohibited noting  that all payments to Anambra State Government are paid through the bank or the bank’s POS agents.

The statement further called on well meaning people of the state to support Prof. Charles Soludo’s administration for a new Anambra State.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

“The Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AiRS) wishes to remind Ndi Anambra that the digital enumeration and registration in the transportation Sector for Tricycle (keke), shuttle/Buses, Taxi, Township buses and Pick up Van in the State is still on and will end on the 18th of this month July 2022.

” Payment of the daily operations permit fees including park permit in the sector has commenced.

“Please, be reminded that Cash payment is not allowed.  All payments to Anambra State Government are paid through the Bank or the bank’s POS agents.

“The Service hereby releases the list of accredited active quickteller agents that have the right to collect these taxes for the state’.

“Every tax payer is expected to go to any of these locations to make payment and request for an electronic receipt immediately.

Please note that only these accredited Bank agents have the right to collect taxes in the state.

“Let us support the Prof. Charles Soludo’s Administration for a new Anambra State.
” it added.
