The Lagos State Government has rolled out a traffic management plan ahead of the commencement of rehabilitation works on Oke-Afa Bridge in Isolo Local Government Area. The rehabilitation is scheduled to commence on Friday, 28th August, 2026, and run for three weeks, through Friday, 18th September, 2026.
Oluwaseun Osiyemi, Commissioner for Transportation LASG in a statement on Tuesday said the works will be carried out in two phases; the first phase will cover the outbound Isolo-to-Ejigbo axis of the bridge, from Friday, 28th August, 2026, to Friday, 11th September, 2026, while the second phase will cover the bridge inbound Isolo from Ejigbo, running from Saturday, 12th September, 2026, to Friday, 18th September, 2026.
Consequently, he noted that Oke-Afa Bridge will be temporarily closed to vehicular movement, and motorists are advised to use the following alternatives:
According to him, during Phase One rehabilitation, motorists from Isolo heading toward Ejigbo will be diverted onto the Isolo-bound carriageway from Pako Roundabout, where traffic will move in both directions, before rejoining the main carriageway to continue their journeys at Mobil Filling Station.
He explained that motorists coming from Ejigbo will maintain free movement and share the carriageway with Ejigbo-bound traffic from Mobil Filling Station to Pako Roundabout, after which they will regain full access to the road to reach their destinations.
During Phase Two, the commissioner stressed that rehabilitation, motorists from Ejigbo heading toward Isolo will be diverted onto the Ejigbo-bound carriageway from Mobil Filling Station, where traffic will move in both directions, before rejoining the main carriageway to continue their journeys at Pako Roundabout.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, he pointed out will be on ground to coordinate vehicular movement and minimise inconveniences. In the same vein, an emergency tow vehicle will be stationed within the axis to provide quick recovery operations for breakdowns throughout the period of the works.
“Advisory: Motorists are implored to be patient, as the partial road closure forms part of the traffic management plan for the rehabilitation works on Oke-Afa Bridge, Isolo LGA, being carried out by the Federal Ministry of Works (Office of the Federal Controller, Lagos) through Messrs. Strabic Construction Limited.” He affirmed.
