Ubong Essien’s School Of Eloquence Secures Guinness Certificate For 480‑Hour Marathon

The School of Eloquence (Nigeria) has been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records as the holder of the world’s longest speech marathon by a team, after completing a 480-hour event in Lagos from 1 to 21 April 2026.

West Africa’s confirmed this in a statement on Monday and a copy made available to DAILYFOCUS NIGERIA.

The Guinness World Records certificate, he said arrived recently and was unveiled at a special reception held at the School of Eloquence.

According to him, the ceremony also honoured the men and women whose participation and contributions made the record possible.

Dean Ubong Essien, described the achievement as the culmination of the “20 Days of Eloquence – “Nigeria Speaks to the World” initiative and thanked supporters, well-wishers and participants for their encouragement.

“This accomplishment belongs not only to our institution but to every person who encouraged us, prayed with us, shared our story, and believed in the vision,” he said.

The School of Eloquence boss affirmed that the recognition reinforces its mission of “Teaching the World to Speak” and signalled that programme activities will continue following the landmark achievement.
