The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has used the Nigeria-UAE Investment Forum—”Investopia Global Africa” to showcase the State’s aggressive push for investments in the Badagry Deep Seaport, positioning it as a cornerstone of the state’s infrastructure revolution.
Speaking at the event hosted by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment in Lagos, on Monday, Sanwo-Olu emphasized Lagos’ readiness to partner with UAE and global investors.
Promised by President Bola Tinubu, the forum highlighted opportunities in Lagos’ transformative projects.

“Lagos State made an investment in the Lekki Port, which is the biggest deep port in the country. We are also making an actual investment in the Badagry Port,” the Governor stated.
“It is all about partnerships and creating an enabling environment.”
He assured investors of a secure business climate, streamlined regulations, and robust infrastructure built over his six-and-a-half-year administration.Additional pitches included a new international airport and the largest logistics hub for agribusiness, all backed by federal support.
Sanwo-Olu also touted the upcoming Lagos International Financial Centre (LIFC)—a Lagos State and EnterpriseNGR initiative set for unveiling in eight to twelve months—as a game-changer to unlock massive investments.
“This is not just about Lagos; it is a conversation about Nigeria,” he said, framing it as a competitive African model drawing global interest.Lagos, leading Nigeria’s investment drive at the sub-national level, invites UAE partners to seize these opportunities for mutual growth.
