Lagos Health District IV Honours Outstanding Workers At 2025 Recognition Ceremony

The Lagos State Health District IV on Tuesday 23 December 2025, celebrated excellence in healthcare delivery during a special Recognition and Award Ceremony for its outstanding health workers.

The event spotlighted the dedication of nurses, midwives, doctors, community health workers, and support staff who have driven significant progress in the district.

Speaking at the ceremony , Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District IV, Bowale Abimbola expressed pride in the workforce’s resilience and professionalism, which have led to measurable gains over the past period.

Bowale who was represented by Dr. Sotunde Oludolapo, Director , Medical Services and Disease Control Lagos State Health District IV,noted that routine immunization services have strengthened, antenatal and skilled delivery coverage has improved, and access to essential primary healthcare has expanded across facilities.

According to the Permanent Secretary “These advancements stem directly from teamwork and commitment, officials noted.

Progress also includes enhanced disease surveillance with timely reporting and rapid response to public health alerts.

” Community outreach and health education efforts have boosted awareness, service uptake, and trust between facilities and residents.

“Quality improvements—such as better patient flow, record keeping, and patient-centered care—have been supported by ongoing supervision, mentorship, and training.

“These achievements would not have been possible without your daily sacrifices,” a district spokesperson said, emphasizing the vital roles played by every cadre of staff.”

Abimbola added that the ceremony served as a platform to motivate the team, foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.

The District Boss pledged continued support through training, supervision, and better working conditions to sustain quality care .

In his closing remarks, he expressed gratitude and extended words of encouragement to all health workers, with a call for renewed passion.

Award recipients were congratulated for their integrity and exemplary service, positioned as ambassadors and mentors. But the Permanent Secretary pointed out that even those not receiving awards were reassured that their contributions remain essential.

A total of nine individuals were honoured at the 2025 recognition and award ceremony.
