NDDC, OGFZA Propose Establishment Of 1st Free Zone Industrial Parks

The Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) of Nigeria is proposing partnership opportunities for establishing Nigeria’s first free zone industrial parks with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Both agencies of government this at a meeting was held at NDDC’s Corporate Headquarters in Port Harcourt to discuss the potential for collaboration in developing these industrial parks, which would be located in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

The meeting was attended by representatives from both organizations, including the Managing Director/CEO of the OGFZA, Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, and the Managing Director of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.

Sen. Tijani Yahaya Kaura, Managing Director/CEO, Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, Nigeria stated that the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) is a Nigerian government agency responsible for regulating free zones in the Niger Delta region.

He noted that the agency’s mandate is to promote the development of free zones in the region, which are areas that are exempt from certain taxes and regulations in order to attract investment and boost economic growth.

“The OGFZA is interested in partnering with other organizations, such as the Free Parks initiative, to help develop free zones in the Niger Delta region.

” The agency believes that free parks can help to speed up the development of the region by providing businesses with a more favorable environment in which to operate.

“The OGFZA is committed to working with other organizations to promote the development of free zones in the Niger Delta region. The agency believes that free zones can play a key role in boosting economic growth and creating jobs in the region.

“Our mandate is to regulate Free Zones in the Niger Delta, we can partner and collaborate, especially in the area of Free Parks because it is an area that will help in speedy development of the region.”the MD added.
