Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has promised that no medical facility in the state will be underutilised.
The Governor gave this assurance during his visit to the Oba Adejugbe General Hospital in Ado Ekiti, where he pledged to upgrade the facility to make it more conducive for citizens’ use.
Governor Oyebanji expressed his commitment to providing affordable and quality healthcare services to the people of Ekiti State. He stated that the upgrade of the General Hospital would help reduce the burden on the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, which is currently attending to all cases.
The Governor also expressed his disappointment over the low utilisation of the General Hospital, despite government’s significant investment in the facility.
He vowed to ensure that the money invested in the hospital was put to good use, and that more quality healthcare services would be provided to the people.
The Governor was accompanied by top government officials during his visit to the hospital and the Customary Court of Appeal complex in Ado Ekiti, where he assessed the extent of work and facilities on the ground.
