Group Issues 40-Day Ultimatum For Gov. Bello To Declare For President Or Face Legal Action 

A socio – political group known as the Inter- Tribal Association of Nigeria, ITAN has issued an ultimatum to Kogi State Governor , Alhaji Yahaya Bello to make his intentions public by declaring for the 2023 Presidential election from Saturday 26th March 2022, or face legal action from the group if he fails to declare after forty days.

 

According to a statement signed and issued by the President and Secretary, Comrade Simon Terna Anakaa and Comrade Jabir Aminu Maiturare, respectively, threatened to drag the governor before the law court by instituting a legal action against him if he fail to make the much-anticipated declaration to contest for the nation’s presidency at the expiration of the ultimatum forty days from today.

The Association in Abuja Federal Capital Territory , noted that Yahaya  Bello’s presidential aspiration is not just about him as an individual but that he represents the hopes and the aspirations of all the Nigerian youths.

They said the Kogi State governor can not afford to hesitate further on the contest for Nigeria Presidential election after the APC Convention  today.

The statement added that so many hopes have been inspired and vested on him becoming the number one leader of the country pointing out that over 70% percent of the country’s population are predominantly youths who believed in his leadership capacity and  have come to see him as the divine intervention, that can help tackle the nations security challenges and to lead the country to the desired development and transformation.

According to the Association statement,  the group has resolved to take the line of legal action against the Yahaya Bello if he delays further in making his intentions known because they cannot watch and allow this golden opportunity to have one of their own at the helms of affairs of the country elude them.

The statement noted that such an opportunity of having young President is not easy to come by,  stating that over 70 percent of Nigeria population consist of the youths who have thrown their weight in support of the Governor’s aspiration, said with 2023 just by the corner, present an ample opportunity to take advantage of their demographic strength by taken over the mantle of leadership of the country.

The group disclosed that Gov. Yahaya Bello is the best man to achieve that goal on behalf of the rest youths in the country by ensuring the desired unity, security, employment and the economic empowerment of the critical sector of the nations population who are women and youths.

The statement emphasised that the group is left with no other option than to employ measures that would compel Yahaya Bello to stand for the presidential race for the singular purpose of representing the collective interest of the younger generation who have been marginalised by the older generation and are well over ripe for leadership position of the country.

The Association also added in the statement that Governor Bello being an aspirant from the North Central,  stands a better chance of winning the presidential election on the basis that, he is the sole unifying candidate that can truly unite the country together without any string of sentiment or contention.

The statement  concluded that the entire focus of all  youths well-meaning Nigerians is for Yahaya Bello’s declaration for the presidency, said any further delay would not go well with the youths and Nigerians in general.

The statement  stressed that the “Association which represents the harmonious interest of Nigerian youths and masses  have jointly resolved to mount intensive pressure on Yahaya Bello to as a matter of urgency, come out and declare for the presidential election within the next forty days counting from today, would have no other alternatives but to approach the law Court to sue him to do their bidding.”
