Lagos Lawmaker Mourns Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu

An  Igbo Lawmaker in Lagos State, Hon Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu, has expressed sadness over the death of the former Military Administrator of Lagos State, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Godwin Kanu (rtd) who died on Wednesday @77.

 

Idimogu in a condolence message signed by his SA on media and publicity Mr Henry Uzodinma, said; “On behalf of the Igbo Community Lagos State, I write to commiserate with the bereaved family over the death of their beloved father and benefactor, late Ndubuisi Godwin Kanu who died after a protracted illness.

 

Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Godwin Kanu was appointed Military Governor of Lagos and Imo State Nigeria in March 1976, during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo. He was the first governor after the decree that established the state from part of the old East Central State. Ndubuisi kanu died on Wednesday in Lagos after a protracted illness.

Idimogu, who is a Lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, said, “Ndubuisi Kanu was a perfect gentleman in all standard”.

 

“Let me say categorically how sad and dejected I am to hear the passing away of our mentor and trailblazer who had chiselled his name on marble in this country.

 

“Certainly he will be missed by all for the legacies he left behind, especially the family, friends and other well-wishers. I pray for the repose of his soul and may God grant his soul everlasting rest” Idimogu said.
