WMC: NCCF Gives Thanks To God Over Protection At Sea

Members , Western Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Christians Fellowship (NCCF) ,have expressed satisfaction for God’s divine protection while on patrol along the waterways, saying several attacks by militants and smugglers were averted at sea.

 

The command’s  NCCF Coordinator  and Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC) 1 Solomon Julius Idowu, disclosed this during the 5th annual  thanksgiving service held in Lagos over the weekend.

 

While speaking at the service ,Julius reiterated that God did wonders upon the lives of officers and men of the command  during routine patrol at sea from January to December 2020, thus need to give thanks.

He said there was need to glorify the name of the most High saying , God deserved all the praises and honours.

 

“2020 is a special year because we all know what happened earlier in the year. Issues of covid-19, ENDSARS etc.

 

“We thank God and we will continue to thank Him because working on the water is not easy but God made it so easy for some of us at sea.

“This is the fifth year of the thanksgiving service and we have not recorded any form of death at sea and we have never mourn here at the command apart from one death cases recorded .

 

He said despite the traumatic years in the world over, God had mercy upon the lives of the command’s operatives adding that NCCF members and non members will continue to give thanks onto the most high.

 

The coordinator noted that while year 2020 had high number death cases on the waterway,no personnel of the marine unit died  in any form of mishaps  .

 

Also speaking, Zone A Coordinator, NCCF,  Barrister Daniel Akwan , Chief Superintendent of Customs (rtd) Daniel  Akwan said “As a christian, all you need to do is to know God and He has a reason for everything because His mercies kept us.

 

He reaffirmed that the significance of the thanksgiving was aimed to celebrate God for His infinite mercies in lives of officers and men of the marine customs .
