For fear of imminent collapse of the neglected Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) building at Bull Nose where several security agencies are situated, Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has relocated.
Recall that the Bull Nose building housing about seven security outfits was reportedly dilapidated posing threats to lives of the occupants.
Some of the agencies occupying the said building include; the Police, Immigration, Army, Navy and Port Health.
The NIS has relocated to Lagos Ports Complex (LPC) Old Court premises, behind Port Authority Police Command by Nnewi building.
Officials of the service finally moved in to the new office on Sunday.
It was gathered that the move has been ongoing since July 2019, following neglect on the part of the Nigerian Ports Authority to fix the dilapidated structure.
The dilapidated structures at the complex where about seven security agencies are warehoused can be described as an eyesore
Multiple sources disclosed that NPA has also concluded plans for rehabilitation of the makeshift offices for some government agencies at Bull Nose.
Some of the buildings it could be recalled had several cracks on the walls while others suffered roofing problems.
