Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, along with other dignitaries, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, observed Eid-el-Kabir in Yola.

They joined thousands of Muslims at the Central Eid Ground to observe the two raka’at prayers in commemoration of the 2023 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Following the prayers, the Chief Imam of Modibbo Adamawa Central Mosque, Khadi Ahmadu Bobboi, delivered a sermon on the history and significance of Eid-el-Kabir to the Muslim Ummah.

He emphasized the significance of slaughtering healthy animals in accordance with the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad.

Governor Fintiri congratulated Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir and expressed his hope that the celebration would bring peace and progress to Nigeria.

He prayed for the country’s development, coexistence, and overall peace, emphasizing the necessity of unity and working together for the betterment of Nigeria.

After slaughtering his sacrificial rams, Governor Fintiri went to the palace of Lamido Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, to receive Sallah Homage from traditional title holders.

The Paramount Ruler, represented by Waziri Adamawa Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, congratulated the Muslim Ummah and wished the Adamawa Pilgrims in Saudi Arabia a successful Hajj.

He called on Muslims to fear Allah and live in peace and harmony with others, and urged government and community leaders to emphasize the value of peace and harmony.

Lamido Adamawa expressed concern over the stateโ€™s persistent conflicts between herders and farmers, encouraging mutual respect, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

He referred to people who commit such atrocities as enemies of peace and urged the government to take the appropriate measures and actions against the perpetrators or culprits.

Furthermore, he urged people to heed the Nigeria Meteorological Agencyโ€™s flood warnings and asked government assistance in providing agricultural inputs to farmers.

The Lamido Adamawa commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for fulfilling his developmental promises to the people of the state and wished him continued success and wisdom in his second term.
