Zulum Sacks Chairman Borno State Internal Revenue, Appears At LG Pensioners Exercise

The Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has relieved the Executive Chairman, Borno State Internal Revenue, Ali Manga Bulama of his appointment.

Meanwhile, the Governor has approved the appointment of Alh Mohammed Alkali as the acting Executive Chairman of the Borno State Board Of Internal Revenue.

Alh Alkali, until his appointment is the Senior Manager Tax, Federal Inland Revenue Service. He is ADKAR certified change management practitioner and hold a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and Masters in Business Administration.

The statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government indicates that the appointment is with immediate effect.

The former Chairman Ali Managa Bulama is to hand over immediately and report to the office of the Secretary to the State Government for reassignment.

Governor Zulum on Monday also appeared at the office of the Auditor General For Local Government, venue of the ongoing pensioners’ verification exercise at around 3 o’clock in the evening.

Zulum who earlier attended to several heads of Agencies and parastatal at his annexe office at the State Secretariat Complex charged the verification committee to adhere strictly to their terms of reference.

Zulum during the visit had one on one interaction with some of the pensioners present at the venue.

The Governor’s visit was to assess the progress of the excercise been carried out by the committee inaugurated in September 2020 to verify retired workers across the 27 local government areas in Borno, in preparation for payment of pensions and gratuities government is owing retirees.

Zulum also had an interface with the committee members, where he examined documents presented by the retirees.
