VALENTINE’S DAY: Lagos Lawmaker Preaches Agape Love In Time Of Adversity

Lagos State House of Assembly member , representing Isolo/Oshodi Constituency, Honourable Jude Idimogu, has called on Nigerians to embrace agape love at a time of adversity .

 

Honourable Idimogu disclosed this to newsmen  on Saturday in Lagos,  as part of   Valentine’s Day messages to people of his Constituency, Lagosians and Nigerians in general.

 

The lawmaker who chaired an occasion tagged “2021 Valentine’s Day with the Archbishop,” with the theme;  Love is tested in the midst of adversity, affirmed that the story behind Valentine Day harped more on how to care for human dignity and love to mankind.

The Politician described the COVID19 pandemic and  current insecurity challenges in the country  as a period of adversity  .

 

 

Idimogu who also renewed his marriage vows with the wife Lady Roseline at a programme put together by the Catholic Church of the Ascension in  Lagos , urged  Nigerians to embrace agape love irrespective of tribe , culture, religion and political groups , saying its a tool that can resolve the insecurity situation in the country.

He reiterated that agape love as a  universal language that must be practice by humans adding that safety of the nation lies squarely in  love , which in turn conquers the world.

 

 

While emphasizing on the ravishing COVID19 pandemic as a time of adversity, Idimogu said ” The message is simple. Loving your neighbour is not necessarily loving somebody that lives close to you.

“Rather it is somebody who helped you at the point of your needs or you helped him at his point of needs.

“The season we are in is Valentine and with the wisdom of the church, it is good to show agape love. So agape love which is the true love is all about sacrificial love.

 

 

“Love is about sacrifice and when you go to the bible aspect where John 3:16 says , that for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son to us. That is sacrificial to mankind .

 

 

 

” We should show love to people around us. And am using this platform to wish my Constituency, Lagosians and Nigerians the best of love and Happy Valentine’s Day.”

The lawmaker who has chaired the event for the second time in two years called on Nigerians to reflect on the security situation in the country by ways of  expressing love to fellow human beings and  sympathize  with those in need.

 

According to him, agape love will eradicate issues of kidnapping, banditry , terrorizing and other vices currently trending in Nigeria.

 

 

On her part,  wife of the politician, Lady Roseline Idimogu stated that the Church took the couple unaware on the renewal of marriage vows saying “We did not prepare for it in anyway but it came as a surprise to us and I love surprises.
